We all have anxiety. It's the part of our mind that tells us not to go near that bear or not too go to close to the edge of the cliff. With out anxiety we wouldn't be able to survive. However people who suffer from anxiety disorders have far too much anxiety. This can be for all sorts of reasons or situations. For instance some one suffering from social anxiety may go into panic mode when they are in a large crowd. I suffer from general anxiety, which means that half the time I don't even know what kicked off a panic attack or that sometimes I even worry over having panic attacks.
Some of the physical symptoms
Dizziness: I find that quite often I'll stand up and have a head rush. I'm most dizzy when I am having a panic attack but there will be more on them in my next post.
Tiredness: Constantly being on guard is exhausting work. I used to be quite a bubbly person but now I find it hard to give my full effort into things. I find it hard to sleep as well, which leads to me running on half charge for the day.
Excessive sweating: It's not the most attractive of things but it does happen. Especially when I am having an anxiety episode or panic attack and it can become uncontrollable.
Shortness of breath: This can happen very quickly when my mind gets into a state of panic. I've quite often found myself hyperventilating quite often.
Stomach ache: When I first saw the symptoms I thought that it would be just like cramp and thought nothing of it but boy was I wrong! Recently I spent a week in hospital due to abdominal pain. I had three ultra sounds and an a MRI scan, they found nothing. They don't really know what caused it but some of the doctors say it could be stress. There isn't really anything I can do to stop it or fix it other than keep taking pain relief but that's not really something I want to keep doing.
I also suffer from Nausea, headaches and insomnia.
These are some of the other possible symptoms:
Pins and needles, irregular heartbeat, muscle aches, a dry mouth, diarrhoea, excessive thirst, frequent urinating and missed periods.
Also anxiety can lead to depression and is quite often linked with irritable bowel syndrome.
